about

  • IS YNC A YOGA TEACHER TRAINING SCHOOL?

Sort of..School of Yoga New Bedford was a Yoga Teacher Training school, YNC is something different. We are abreast of the large scale of people that have already completed a YTT and we understand there might be a desire for a different way of learning and refining the craft of YTT. Yoga Nerd Club (despite its name) isn’t JUST for yoga teachers. Anyone can join these study groups. We aim to educate, promote constructive dialogue and entice those participating to keep learning!! We essentially hope that you see YNC as a way to better your understanding. Which means its open to teachers and those who do not teach!

WILL I BE A CERTIFIED UPON COMPLETION?

A mentorship program with Juliet is available and if you are interested in a classic YTT and that Yoga Teacher Certification can be provided. We are not connected to the Yoga Alliance because we feel their standards are not up to par with our curriculum. We like to think of education as endless so there is no need to “complete” anything.

WHY DOES YNC MATTER IN A WORLD OF MANY OPTIONS TO LEARN?

Lol. Honestly nobody ever asked this but we thought it would be a great way to plug that YNC is about SHARED knowledge. Which means a love to compare and discuss research (both in science & social), an ability to be critical and challenge your previous ideas/beliefs, and most importantly to reconstruct the hierarchy of one person is in charge/knows/preaches. Our aim with this is to create an inclusive experience and education, to meet knowledge that is ambiguous with curiosity and mostly to determine how to internalize accurate information to find its relevance to ourselves!

WHO IS YOGA NERD CLUB FOR?

Everyone and anyone. Its for yoga teachers, fitness instructors, coaches, therapists, intellects, practitioners that don’t teach, the curious, the inspired and the nerds.

    WHY DID THIS COME ABOUT?

Juliet has recorded a 15 minute story for you to listen to explaining all the great reasons how this novel way of learning came about.

    Listen BELOW.

  • Both the Yoga Nerd Club Events and Mentorships are based in the affordable education model.
