more than yoga

MBPR

MBPR stands for Movement, Breath, Posture, and Rest. It’s a practical method that works for all people, no matter their skill or experience. While it may look like yoga, it’s more than that—it combines yoga with movement science to be useful and effective.

Movement in MBPR can be both focused and exploratory, helping improve skill and performance. Breath is used as a tool to connect with muscles, bones, nerves, and to boost energy. Posture focuses on joint health, body shape, and how the body moves. Rest is about restorative yoga and learning to truly relax.

MBPR is based on a bio-psycho-social approach, which means it considers the body, mind, and social factors as key to learning and improving in movement, breathing, posture, and rest. Practicing in a group adds to the experience, making it both simple and challenging—just like life.

We always include our inspiration for MBPR classes from Iyengar Yoga, Somatics, FRC, and Body Mind Centering, Rajanaka Yoga.

night Moves

NIGHT MOVES is a super fun and very cool dancercise class. 1980s aerobics but with a modern twist. Any one can do it. There is some choreography, core work, a lil’ jumping, stomping, shaking and a whole lotta sweating! Named after the Bob Seger song this class delivers the most fun you’ll have while getting a workout in. Set to themes and really good playlists to bring a diverse attitude to each class.

somatic sesh

Somatic Sesh (session) is a way of experiencing movement, breathing, space, and environment for the sake of nurturing our own unique nature. You can expect to do alot of rolling around on the floor and be asked to sense and to feel these organic movements. This is a rich and foundational process that assists with all ways we move whether athletically or softly. The purpose of a practice like this is to affect the nervous system in a way that supports resiliency and health. Although not a weekly class on our schedule, you can look for these pop up events on the calendar (home page). Or contact us below.
