good company Collective

story

After almost 20 years as a yoga studio, we’ve grown and changed. It took time and effort, but it was worth it. Now, we are a community united by a love of movement. Many things are happening in the studio. To honor this, School of Yoga New Bedford is now Good Company Collective. We’re excited to refresh our space for the community. We still offer the detailed and creative classes you love, but with a new name. We stay welcoming and eager to learn, just like you!

There are classes that are based in a home spun methodology MBPR.

There is a movement therapy branch called CHIN UP.

We have a youth focused and youth led non profit organization, GOOD COMPANY NB.

We dance both for exercise, NIGHT MOVES, and for performance MOVE BACK HOME.

And we have an exceptional & affordable educational department called YOGA NERD CLUB.

Listen to Juliet tell her story about this evolution here.

founder

My name is Juliet Loranger. I was born and raised in New Bedford/Dartmouth and as a young adult in New Orleans. I am almost 50 y/o and live in Fairhaven with my partner Sam and dog, Georgia.

I hold near and dear to me the value of hard work, the importance of nuance, an admiration for great designers, a kinship to those who love movement, and a respect for all acts of sincerity. I am a constant fan of ‘the underdog’!

Movement is a movement. I feel that teaching others to move better is an act of resilience and an ignition of culture which can activate both individuals and communities.

I love everything about movement.

From doing it to watching it, from form to performance, from the obvious to the inquisitive, the stillness of a well poised moment as well as the inspiration of ecstatic dance, from soft and brief nods to an athletic burst of passion, movement and our ability to understand it is endless.

Here is my bio/CV.
